The Harley-Davidson Big Twin Expansion Project is a large industrial remodel that expanded Harley-Davidson's powertrain manufacturing operations into the adjoining vacant space previously occupied by Briggs & Stratton. The original powertrain section of the building was previously built by Hunzinger. The primary scope of the project included major interior shipping/receiving area modifications as well as mechanical and electrical infrastructure extensions to accommodate the intended end-use requirements of the owner. A small addition was also constructed to incorporate a new 8,736 square foot Health and Wellness Center. The center features a fitness area, aerobics room, locker room, toilet rooms, and a wellness center. The wellness center includes four treatment rooms, an exam room, record storage room and three offices. In order to further meet the increased occupancy of the plant, parking areas on the East side of the facility was increased and a stormwater dry pond was constructed to handle the additional impervious runoff generated from these activities.
