The McKee Medical Center - Legacy Expansion consisted of additions and renovations to the existing hospital. The additions including the construction of a 3-story tower encompassing the ICU and a new OB/GYN and birthing center.The construction schedule required implementation in and around the daily activities of this fully operational hospital and emergency medical facility. Also included was the extensive remodeling of nearly 180,000 square feet comprised of renovations and supplemental construction to offer expansion for more patient rooms and expanded post-surgery space. Various departments including the laboratory, pharmacy, morgue and other services were modified, along with the addition of more parking spaces. The final piece of construction was the addition of a contemporary new hospital entrance with sunlight canopy leading to a renovated admissions area and full makeover of the emergency room entrance and foyer.
