Snyder Langston was contracted to provide design-build construction services for this multi-purpose 3,200 s.f. aquatics locker, training and fund raising facility. Features include team locker and changing rooms, state-of-the-art scoreboard, pool equipment storage room, video training room, wireless academic study breakout room, coach’s office and food service facility. Snyder Langston was challenged with maximizing the many uses needed by the various aquatics programs of Mater Dei High School, while designing to the limited budget of $1.2M and maintaining the building envelope within the available site area. Design management included a two month design intensive with Mater Dei’s president and department heads, the architectural, structural, audiovisual consultants, as well as city officials. Construction on this tight site was accomplished by developing comprehensive logistics and construction schedules and seamless communications with school officials and security personnel.
