Milwaukee, WI
Hunzinger Construction Company was hired to renovate 25,000 square feet of space on the first floor of the Student Life and Campus Center at Milwaukee School of Engineering (1025 N. Broadway) as a new Nursing Complex for its academic nursing degree program. The project transformed half of the mostly vacant first floor of this building which formerly housed a bank tenant, into a brand new area that will accommodate the School of Nursing. This new renovation is an immeasurable upgrade from the former space, which was limited in usage and in need of upgrades and expansion. The new space has created a state-of-the-art nursing complex with four simulation rooms and a nurse’s station to simulate a hospital environment, as well as a Home Care Studio to assist in teaching in-home nursing care, 16 private offices, breakout rooms for discussion, four large labs, classrooms with operable partition walls, reception desk, and a student study area. The project was completed in approximately 4 months.
