Harris County selected Satterfield & Pontikes Construction to lead a major renovation of the County’s Juvenile Justice Center. The nine-story building, which opened in 1951, is often referred to as the “Jewel of the Court Complex.”
Scope of work on this project included:
Renovating space for 210 juvenile detention beds utilizing site-assembled modular steel cells, juvenile courts, juvenile administration, and offices for Justice of the Peace Precincts 1 and 2 and Harris County Constable Precinct 1
Partial demolition of the exterior and complete demolition of the interior
Asbestos abatement
Salvaging and reusing numerous original items, including desks and benches
