General Instruction Buidling Nurse Training

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded Satterfield & Pontikes Construction the contract to construct the General Instruction Building Nurse Training (Dunlap Hall), a split-level structure with space for general instruction, administration, mock operating rooms and classrooms.

Scope of work on this project included:
• Completing the foundation, which included excavation of expansive fill, replacement with structural fill, deep foundation support in the form of concrete piers ranging from 35 to 52 feet, structural concrete grade beams, and structural concrete double-tees
• Completing the building structure, which included structural steel, metal stud framing, sheathing, waterproofing, masonry veneer, vistawall curtain wall system, standing seam and modified bitumen roofing
• Supporting facilities include electric service, water, sewer, gas, paving, walks, curbs and gutters, retaining wall, fi re protection and alarm system, storm drainage, site improvements, landscaping, irrigation, seeding and sodding, mass notification systems, information systems, anti-terrorism/force protection measures, and medical gas systems
