Texas Southern University selected Satterfield & Pontikes Construction to lead the construction of the new Barbara Jordan/ Mickey Leland School of Public Aff airs Building. The four-story, cast-in-place concrete structure houses a variety of classrooms, auditoriums and faculty offices.
Scope of work on this project included:
• Outfitting four lecture halls completely with advanced audiovisual capabilities, including an auditorium dedicated to academic and community programming
• Outfitting the entire building with state-of-the-art technology that includes videoconference and wireless connections
• Providing new faculty offices on the third and fourth floors for the Barbara Jordan/ Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs, the Barbara Jordan Policy Research Institute, the Mickey Leland Center on World Hunger and Peace, and several programs within the College of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences
